Lonnie Ray Williams, age 68, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Lonnie was born on January 1, 1948 in Huron (Norwalk), Ohio to the late Shelvin and Hazel (Arnett) Williams. On August 4, 1994, he married Sylvia (Plotner) in Marion, Ohio.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from the Laborers Union #584 as a Construction Worker. He was a member of the VFW #3313 and American Legion #584.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren: Jacob Jackson and Kindall Crawford; two sisters: Maxine (John) Marshall and Virdla (Robert) Brewer.
Lonnie was survived by his wife: Sylvia Williams; three sons: John (Kelly) Kearns, Paul R. (Tamara) Franklin and Fred Franklin; four daughters: Robin (Keith) Buck, Connie (Don) Melton, Carmala (William) Wiseman and Clara (Rick) Crawford; two brothers: Bobby (Betty) Williams and Patrick (Diane) Williams; five sisters: Justeen (Harry) Andrews, Faye (Harry) Holbrook, Jean (Dick) Eckerd, Patty (Errol) Brown-Volk and twin sister: Sharon (Ron) Marshall; grandchildren: Kelly Sullivan, Kirby, Peyton and Brenna Franklin, Samantha Day-Baker, Amanda Taylor, Jessica Oliver, Jordan Snelling, Baylee Deemer, Heather Fout, Ricky Jackson, Nathan Franklin, Tyler, Aubrey and Ryan Franklin, Leslie Lauren, Hannah Crawford, John Kearns, Jennifer and Josh Crawford, John, Kelly and Macey Kearns; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He will truly be missed by his family and friends. The family would like to express a special thanks to Chris Dickson of Folk Printing and to the Kindred Hospice staff.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 starting at 5pm to 7pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10am at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse McLeod officiating. Burial will follow service at the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
