Ann Faust Concepcion-Morris, 35, of Marion

Ann Faust Concepcion-MorrisA passionate woman, a bright and shining star, Ann Faust Concepcion-Morris found peace with the Lord, Wednesday evening, July 13, 2016, at her parent’s home surrounded by her loving family and friends.  During her four year battle with breast cancer, she fought every day with courage, strength, grace and love.  She was 35 years young.

On April 30, 1981, Ann was born in Toledo, Ohio, the older of two children of Dr. Roberto “Bob” and Jacqueline (Faust) Concepcion.  She attended St. Mary School and Marion Catholic High School, competing in as many sports as she could, until her senior year when she transferred to River Valley High School to start taking college classes.  She graduated from River Valley High School in 1999.  Starting at age 14, during the summers, Ann enjoyed working at the Stewart’s Root Beer Stand.

Furthering her education, Ann graduated from Capital University in 2003, earning degrees in both communication and journalism.  She excelled at internships for WNCI and Channel 4.

Upon graduating, Ann returned home to Marion to work for her hometown newspaper, the Marion Star, where she wrote articles for several years with her own unique flair, heart and passion.  The next chapter of Ann’s life was owner of Got Mail? in the Marion Plaza, until 2014, when her cancer returned.  She was also a substitute teacher in the Marion City Schools.

Deep in faith, Ann was a lifelong member of St. Mary Church.

Full of passion for others, Ann lived her life as an advocate for anyone in need, most especially youth.  She successfully coordinated events and fundraising, to help better the lives of others however possible.

To say Ann touched many lives during her much too brief time on earth is a dramatic understatement.  Wanting to educate everyone about the reality of metastatic breast cancer, she posted a moving video, decked out in her pink ribbon attire, that has been watched over 310,000 times and counting.

Finding a special love and companion, Ann was blessed in many ways when Ian Cooper came into her life.  He was by her side through everything.

Most important of all to Ann where her two children, Caden and Corlei.  She cherished every second with them, and so loved to watch them play.  She wanted nothing more than to continue to watch them grow.

Ann was so many things…a mother, a daughter, a sister, a lover, a fighter, an educator, a supporter to all, an inspiration, a shining light, a true spirit full of life, and so much more…  Everything she did, she did with passion, with her whole heart.  She had a special charisma, humor and spunk.  Her infectious smile and personality lit up every room she ever entered.  Ann truly made a difference in life, and her heart, passion, love and incomparable spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.

Including an army of friends and supporters, left to cherish Ann’s memory are her two beloved children: Caden and Corlei Morris; parents: Dr. Roberto and Jacqueline Concepcion; brother, Robert Concepcion; special companion, Ian Cooper; her “forever friend, her rock,” Kristin Iden; father of her children: Tony Morris; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ann was preceded in death by her grandparents: Dr. Raymundo “Wowo” and Aida “Wawa” Concepcion, and Jacqueline and Paul Faust; and a cousin, Nicolas Concepcion.
