Linda Kay Belt, age 72, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Presidential Nursing Home. On April 7, 1944, she was born to the late Earl and Esther (Wise) Shrader in Marion, Ohio, and on June 28, 1962, she married Jacob Belt.
Linda retired from the Ohio Heartland Head Start after seventeen years. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially painting and building birdhouses, and she loved playing card games of all sorts. She was known for her generous and loving heart, and she raised many people, including her own children and beyond.
She is survived by her sons Gary (Nora Sayre) Belt of LaRue and Jeff Belt of Marion; her daughter Tammy Scott of Marion; her brother Max Shrader of Mt. Gilead; her sister Holly Gilbert of Marion; her grandchildren Holly Chafins, Wes Sayre, Kit Scott, Jessica (Katlyn) Sayre, Cassandra Sayre, Lakelyn Meadows, Brianna Sayre, Hunter Grestel, and Landon Belt; her great-grandchildren Cherokee Bennett, Jacob Chafins, Maria Kay Chafins, Zoe Patrick, and Lane Patrick; her great-great-grandson Jax Malone; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jacob Belt and her brothers Eugene and Dennis Shrader.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 3 PM at the home of John and Vickie Angel, 2943 East Dr. (Grandview Estates), Marion, Ohio, 43302. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 1 PM at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, Ohio.
