Barbara J. Postell Ellinwood, age 80, of Marion, Ohio, passed away at Marion General Hospital on Friday, August 5, 2016.
On February 21, 1936, she was born to the late Francis H. and Thelma E. (Kohler) Postell, and on November 12, 1954 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she married Truman G. Ellinwood, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 30, 2016.
Barbara worked at the Welcome Wagon in her early years, and she later became a long-time associate at Dwight Spencer Associates. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to indie car races, and she served as president of the Mark St. School PTA and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Marion Moose Lodge, The Eagles, and American Legion Post #584. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, decorating, and many outdoor activities, and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as people in general.
She is survived by her sons Greg (Joanie) Ellinwood, Jeff (Joyce) Ellinwood, and Keith Ellinwood, all of Marion; her brothers Mike (Darlene) Postell and Kenneth (Charlotte) Postell; her sisters Jeanette (Jim) Sloan, Carolyn (Paul) Bloomfield, and Kathryn Pappert; her seven grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brothers Larry Postell and Francis Postell, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Reverend Dwight Hord officiating. Burial will follow at Claibourne Cemetery, Richwood.
