Nina Irene Caskey, age 93, of New Riegel formerly of Marion passed away at her home on Thursday August 7, 2016.
She was born Sunday August 27, 1922 to the late Bert and Lelah (Rhoades) Hutchisson in Delaware County and was one of twelve children.
Nina fell in love with a handsome young man named Glenn Caskey. On July 12, 1939, at the age of 17, she took his last name in marriage. Together they shared nearly 54 years of marriage and raised 4 wonderful children. Glenn went on to prepare their heavenly home June 5, 1993.
Nina was a career homemaker, which allowed her to stay at home and raise their 4 children. Although it came with its challenges, Nina would not have had it any other way. Nina had a love for cats. She would make sure that any cat would have food and water as well as finding a loving home. Whenever she had some down time Nina would enjoy heading to the bowling alley.
Nina will be dearly missed by her children Sharon (Roger) Denzer, Jeff Caskey, Gary (Kathy) Caskey, and Steve Caskey; grandchildren Tim Denzer, Alex Caskey, Jennifer (Chuck) Daniel, Amanda Caskey, Danny Galyk, Mark Galyk, Tim Galyk, Tammy Galyk, Pam Stone, and many great-grandchildren.
Nina was met at Heaven’s gates by her parents, loving husband, grandson Jackson Caskey, granddaughter Alicia Caskey, and 11 brothers and sisters.
The family will greet friends on Thursday August 11, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home 360 East Center Street, Marion Ohio. Graveside Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday August 12, 2016 at the Fairview Cemetery in Ostrander.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Nina to the Marion County Humane Society.
