Raymond S. Howell age 77 of Marion, Ohio passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born August 31, 1938 in Marion, Ohio to the late Roy and Eunice (Redman) Howell.
On January 19, 1980 he married Catherine M. (Hodges) Howell. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2014.
Raymond was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was retired Assistant Fire Chief at Marion City Fire Department from 1961-1989.
He is survived by his daughter, Tami Monnette of Marion, his son, Todd Monnette of Marion, six grandchildren, Olivia, Brittany, Jeffrey, Shaylah, Paige and Leigha and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Howell and his brother, James Howell and his special dog companion, Paisley.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 24, 2106 at 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Schuring officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by Marion County Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Safety City or Hand Me Down Dobes in care of the funeral home.
