Charlene Smyth, age 78 of Marion, passed away at her residence on Friday September 9, 2016. On May 26, 1938, Charlene was born to the late William and Georgianna Jones in Gary, Indiana. Charlene married Dr. Jack Smyth on August 28, 1981 in Marion, Ohio.
She was a member of the Grand Prairie Baptist Church. Charlene worked for the L&K Restaurants starting as a waitress and ended up in management. Then she worked for Whirlpool in the shoe store for the employees. Charlene will truly be missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Charlene is survived by one son: Johnny Allen of Dickinson, TX; one daughter: Julie (Carlson) Lowe of Marion, OH; one brother: Bill (Betty) Jones of Marion, OH; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family invites all family and friends to come to a memorial service in honor of Charlene Smyth at the Grand Prairie Baptist Church starting at 6 pm on Thursday September 15, 2016 with Rev. Bob Hendrix officiating.
