Jack Edward Gibson, Sr., age 84, of Marion, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at home.
Jack was born, on March 28, 1932 in Crestline, Ohio to the late Grear E. and Ruth M. (Cramer) Gibson. Jack married Mary Wolford who survives in Marion.
Jack proudly served his Country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Jack worked and retired as an auto body technician for numerous car dealerships in Marion, including Byrd’s, Lupika’s, and Marion Auto Sales. He loved fishing at Lake Erie and spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by children, Ruthie (Ben) Carver, Mark E. Gibson, Jackie Miller, and Jack (Rebecca) Gibson II, step children, Juanita (Tom) Blevins, Pamela (Robert) Martin, Charlene (Kevin) Bowman, Sandra Hunt and Doug (Tammi) Ray; brother, Todd (Brenda) Gibson; sisters, Anna (Herb) James and Betty Ricker; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Reva Howard; 6 brothers, Art, Gene Lee, Emmitt, Donnie, Dick and Bill Gibson, and two sisters, Norma Carpenter and Opal Bisel.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ohio Health Hospice, especially Brian for the care they provided Jack.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am, until 12:30 pm at Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home Tuesday, September 20, 2016 with services immediately following with Pastor Brett Cornelius officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens with Military Honors presented by the Marion County United Veterans Council.
