Larry L. Knickel age 73 of Marion, Ohio passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born September 1, 1943 in Morral, Ohio to the late Arthur C. and Faye A. (Yeager) Knickel.
Larry was employed at Tecumseh Products as an inspector for 19 ½ years before their closing, he then was at Marion City Schools for 24 years as a custodian. He also enjoyed building and general contracting. In his spare time Larry loved bowling; he coached and helped many people with their game. He was a member of the Marion County Bowling Hall of Fame and bowled several 300 games and 800 series games.
He is survived by his two sons, Rodney (Meg) Knickel of Marion, Kevin (Jolene) Knickel of Marion, six grandchildren, Kaylie (Jake) Maniaci, Cooper Knickel, Tommy McCoy, Sydney McCoy, Sidney Knickel, Alexandra Knickel, two great grandchildren, Lyla and Kyle Maniaci, two sisters, Donna (Carlton) Dietsch of Marion, Beatrice (Jack) Kellogg of Marion, two brothers, Robert (Shirley) Knickel of Camden, SC., Arthur Knickel of Marion and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016 @ 10 AM with Pastor Dwight Hord officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
