Oliver R. Dunn, age 67 of Marion, passed away Friday September 16, 2016, after a short illness.
Oliver was born on March 24, 1949, in Lee City, Kentucky to Ethel M. (Puckett) Dunn and the late Chester Dunn. He was a 1967 graduate of Harding High School. Oliver worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 37 years and retired in 2003.
Oliver was a member of Marion First Church of the Nazarene since 1987, where he was active with Bible School and Restoration Weekend projects. He enjoyed being a grandpa, family activities and many hobbies such as woodworking and working on cars.
Oliver is survived by his wife: Sheryl L. (Christian) Dunn, whom he married on April 19, 1987; his mother: Ethel Dunn; two sons: Lonnie (Kathy) Butler of Marion and Joe Butler (LeeAnn Kelso) of Galion, Ohio; two daughters: Michelle (Bobby) Pipes of Utica, Ohio and Angie Dunn of Marion; eight grandchildren: Grant, Gwen and Garrett Butler; Kendra, Eric and Robert Pipes and Paul and Josh Dunn; eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Arlene (Ron) Coyle; one brother: Phil (Paula) Dunn and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Oliver was preceded in death by his father: Chester R. Dunn.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 20, 2016 starting at 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Marion First Church of the Nazarene. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday September 21, 2016 at 11am at the church under the direction of Pastor Don Diehl. Burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery.
