JoAnn M. Roads of Marion passed away on Monday October 10, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.
JoAnn was born on December 23, 1929 in Marion, the daughter of Fred and Ethel Garvin. JoAnn graduated Harding High School in the class of 1947. She worked for the General Telephone Company for over 20 years, retiring from there in the early 90’s.
On December 16, 1950, JoAnn was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Roads. They have shared over 65 years of marriage.
In addition to working at the General Telephone Company, JoAnn was a devoted homemaker. Her family was her proudest achievement and the greatest gift life had to offer. She was loving, caring and fully supportive of all the things her family did. As a mother, she championed all that her son Michael was involved in. As a grandmother, she was her grandson Ryan’s biggest fan. To JoAnn, family was everything.
She is survived by her husband Richard “Dick” Roads; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Sandy Roads; grandson Ryan Roads and her brother Dick Garvin.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Evelyn, Virginia and Jack.
Services are being handled privately by the family.
