Robert “Bob” L. Blevins, age 74 of Marion, passed away on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.
Bob was born on October 29, 1941 in Russell, KY, the son of Marshall and Lucille (McGlone) Blevins. Bob was united in marriage to Nanette VanBuskirk in 1979.
Bob was the owner and operator of Blevins Construction and took great pride in his work and craftsmanship in which he was contracted to do. He took great pride in his professionalism and the trust his customers gave to him.
He never met a stranger; he loved to meet people and to hear their story. Bob also enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an avid bowler. He had a great fondness for country music, especially the banjo. Above all else, family was his most cherished accomplishment. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren filled his life was unspeakable joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife Nanette “Nan” Blevins; his children: Trina (fiancé Scott McCollough) Bolinger, Robert “Dan” (Stacie) Blevins, Raymond Douglas (Deanna) Tillman and Jacqueline Maniaci; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings: Homer (Dorothy) Blevins, Richard (Paulette) Blevins, Betty (Ralph) Skaggs, Barbara (George) Macey and Ruby (Bill) Atha; numerous nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a grandchild.
Visitation will be held TODAY, Friday October 14, 2016 from 5PM to 7PM at the Snyder Funeral Home, Denzer Chapel, 360 East Center St., Marion; Funeral services will be held Saturday at the funeral home at 10AM; Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
