Robert Lee Reish, age 91, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at 6:07 PM in the Kingston Residence of Marion.
He was born in Barberton, Ohio on September 1, 1925 to the late Forrest Earl and Zella Ruth (Sturgeon) Reish.
Robert married the former Marlene Diana Weston in Caledonia, Ohio on October 22, 1950 and she preceded him in death on November 21, 1996 in Marion.
He served in the U.S.Army’s 75th Infantry Division during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. Robert was employed by the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad for 44 years as a signalman and retired in 1985. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by a daughter; Stacy (John) Slater of Chicago, IL., a granddaughter; Chloe Slater of Chicago, IL., and a nephew; Richard Reish of Marion. He was preceded in death by a sister; Carol Rowland and a brother; Warren Reish.
A memorial service will be held in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Friday, November 25, 2016, at 12:00 Noon officiated by Pastor Merlyn Winters. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. A private family burial will take place in the Claridon Cemetery. Military Rites will be provided by the Marion County Veterans Council.
