Carol Kay Severns, age 71 of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday November 12, 2016.
Carol was born on April 11, 1945 in Oak Hill, OH, the daughter of Walter Kenneth and Viola Ellen (Leanard) Christian. Carol was a devoted homemaker, home health care provider to her husband Thomas and also had worked for the Smith Clinic in medical records.
Carol’s mission in life was to love and serve everyone. Her home was full of life and love, taking in anyone at any point in time that needed a place to stay. She knew no stranger and her spirit was one of generosity, humility and unconditional love. Holidays were always a special time for Carol as the house would once again be full with family. Doing for others and always being available is just what came naturally to Carol. She enjoyed the simple beauty of a flower and she also enjoyed traveling around to different casinos with her siblings. Her life was full and is now celebrated by her family and friends that will forever carry her in their hearts.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Severns; her children: Jamie (Billie) Bowen, Kenny Maze, Jody (Linda) Maze, Mark (Jessica) Wicker, Sheila Foreman, Danial Wicker and Tommy (Katie) Wicker; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: Mary White, Shelba Napper Jester, Barbara (Carl) Sisson, Glenna “Peg” (Dave) Stewart, Beverly (Sandy) Keckler, Sarah Gramling, Olivia (David) Stansbery and Michael (Debra) Christian.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: John, Delmar, Delorus, Vicky, Shirley Ebert, Walter Hayden and Geraldine Harris.
Visitation will be held on Thursday November 17, 2016 at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Celebration of Life services will be held at the church on Friday with friends calling from 12Noon to the time of service at 1PM; Pastor Jim McIntire will be officiating; Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
