Frank C. Basford II, age 84, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at Marion General Hospital. On October 12, 1932, he was born to the late Frank C. and Mildred (Jenkins) Basford in Marion, Ohio, and on May 2, 1952, he married Barb Thrush.
Frank was an avid golfer, and he worked for Ohio Edison as a dispatcher for 35 years before his retirement. He served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War.
He is survived by his son Bruce (Sharon) Basford of Delaware, Ohio; his grandchildren Cory Basford and Mark Basford, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barb in 1998; his son Mark Basford; and his sisters Betty Bowen, Ruth Snow, and Ginny Ebers.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Services will take place at 12 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Marion Cemetery.
