Jessie James Newsome, age 69, of Marion passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 2:55 PM in the Woodside Village Care Center, Edison, Ohio.
He was born in Blevinsville, Kentucky on February 24, 1947 to Earn and Gertrude ( Edwards) Newsome. His father; Earn and stepmother; Betty Newsome preceded him in death along with his mother; Gertrude Gayheart. Jessie’s stepfather; Bill Gayheart survives in Marion.
Jessie was employed with Marca Industries in the 1980’s. He spent many hours watching people and drinking coffee at the McDonalds on Main Street.
He leaves behind a daughter, four brothers; Frank (Lenore) Newsome of Eaton Rapids, MI., Dale (Diane) Newsome, Bruce (Ellen) Newsome, & Danny (Margaret) Newsome all of Marion, OH., two sisters; Barbara Newsome of Homer, MI. & Diane (Tommy) Higgins of Martel, OH., a stepbrother; Randy Lucas of Marion, OH., and many nieces & nephews.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM. Pastor Bill Middleton will conduct the service and burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
