Lelia J. Simpkins, age 80, of Marion passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 9:20 PM in the Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Lawrence County, Ohio on June 8, 1936 to Samuel W. and Stella (Yealey) Malone.
Lelia married Earl Simpkins Jr. in Marion, Ohio on September 9, 1950 and he survives in Marion.
Also surviving are a son; Earl (Julia) Simpkins III of Delta, OH., three daughters; Connie Jackson, Catherine (Jeff) Carr, & Carol Poston all of Marion, OH., a sister; Geneva Roy of Marion, OH., 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, daughter-in-law; Nikki Simpkins, and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons; Richard E. Simpkins & Randy Joe Simpkins, a grandson; Anthony Smith, ten brothers, nine sisters, and two son-in-laws; Alan Jackson & Glen Poston.
A private family graveside will be held Friday, December 16, 2016, in the Marion Cemetery. Pastor Jackie Peterson will conduct the service. No calling were observed.
