Anne Truex, 73, of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully at Marion General Hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
Born March 28th, 1943, Anne was a lifelong resident of Marion, spending her life in service and caring to others.
She is survived by her son: Todd & daughter-in-law; Donna of Boylston, MA. grandchildren; Katherine Campbell, Courtney & Connor Truex, and great granddaughter; Makenna Sullivan. With her at her time of passing was her dear friend and companion; John Kipe of Marion.
Anne graduated from Harding High School in 1961. She worked at the Hotel Harding until shortly before its closing. Anne attended nursing school in 1972, and afterward was employed at the Smith Clinic as an LPN for more than 30 years in surgical recovery, floor nursing, and physical rehabilitation, finishing her career as part of the Marion General Hospital in 2006.
Anne was a selfless savior of strays, be they yard sale bargains, cats, or even people, taking them in as she found them, polishing them up, caring for them, and helping them find new purpose in their lives. She was known for her gentle voice, kind smile, and random acts of generosity.
A reception and memorial service celebrating Anne’s life will be held on Monday, January 30, 2016 at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 249 East Center St. beginning at 10:00 AM. Rev. Melvin Truex and Rev. David Hoffman will conduct the service at 11:00 AM.
