Robert L. Gorenflo age 93 formerly of Green Camp, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Kingston.
He was born September 22, 1923 in Marion, Ohio to the late Chesney and Elizabeth (Hoover) Gorenflo.
On July 11, 1943 he married Marjorie J. (Willis) Gorenflo. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2002.
Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran serving with 1474th Engineers in France, Germany and Philppines from 1942-1945. His rank was Tech 5. He retired from Pollock and Armco Steel after 35 years as a millwright, he attended Green Camp Baptist Church, was a life member of VFW #7201 and American Legion #605 in Waldo.
He is survived by his sons, James R. (Berchie) Gorenflo of Russells Point, Oh., Jack T. (Teri) Gorenflo of Richwood, Oh., six grandchildren. Heather (Jeremy) Simpkins, Jessica (Andy)Swaisgood, Joseph (Michelle) Gorenflo, Benjamin (Emily) Gorenflo, Amanda (Justin) Collet, Kayle Gorenflo, seven great grandchildren, Charlie, Lyndia, Grace, Gage. Brodie, Baylor and Noah his brother, William (Erma) Gorenflo of Columbus, his sister, Dorothy Cluff of Columbus, his very special friend, Ruth Anderson of Green Camp and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Delmon Gorenflo and his sister, Betty Berry.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2 – 4 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Marion County United Veterans Council will conduct military honors at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green Camp Cemetery.
