Bonnie L. Downs, age 89, a residence of DeWolfe Place, Marion passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11:25 PM in her residence. She was born in Marion, Ohio on May 16, 1929 to the late Howard and Matilda (McCormick) Brookover.
Bonnie married Joe R. Downs Sr. in Marion, Ohio on April 12, 1947 and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2004 in Marion. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are a son; Joe R. Downs Jr. of Marion, OH., a daughter; Kim (Brian) Farris of Winchester, VA., two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two cousins; Dan Pletcher of Romulus, N.Y. & Barb McCormick-Hill of Marion, OH. sister-in-law; Shirley Downs of Marion, OH., and several nieces & nephews.
Bonnie was a member of Eagles Auxiliary #2163 of Kenton, OH. and American Legion Post #584 Aux. She was a huge fan of Ohio State University football team and the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. She was employed as a proof reader for the Fulfillment Corp. of America for several years and in later years became an accomplished homemaker.
