Randy E. Keeton, 66, of Marion

Randy E. KeetonRandy E. Keeton, age 66, of Marion, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Grant Medical Center from complications from a recent fall.

On October 29, 1951, Randy was born in Marion, Ohio, the oldest of three children of the late Ren “Ray” and Martha “Marti” (Phillips) Keeton-Scheitler. He attended Marion Harding High School.

Randy worked as a long term employee for the Whirlpool Corporation in Marion. He was also a member of many local clubs, where he loved seeing his friends and bragging about his children and grandchildren.

As a “die hard Cleveland fan,” Randy was the Browns and Indians biggest fan! “Every year he was sure that this was going to be their year,” no matter the circumstances. He especially loved watching the Browns with his close friends up at Indian Lake, where he lived for several years. He also enjoyed playing softball for many years on both the Whirlpool and Elk’s teams.

With a love for the outdoors, Randy loved going golfing, fishing and tent camping every chance he could, especially up at Lake Erie. Always “up for the next adventure,” Randy “ did what he wanted, when he wanted” and always followed his heart. He enjoyed every day of his life and “no one loved his family and friends greater than him.” This is especially true for his children and grandchildren who “were his pride and joy.”

Randy will forever be missed for his ornery, spunky personality, and the laughter that filled every room he was in. His love will be felt every moment for the rest of his family’s lives.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Heather (Kyle) Hunt, and Stacey (Josh Arthur) Keeton, both of Marion; two grandchildren: Reese Hunt, and Ethan Arthur; three siblings: Michael Keeton of Marion, Jeff (Becky) Keeton of Knoxville, TN, and Renee (Marvin) Slowinski of Arizona. He leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and former spouse, Phyllis (Fradd) Keeton; and the Fradd family whom he loved as his own.

Including his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Keeton of Las Vegas.

His family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services celebrating his life and love will also be held there on Friday at 10:30 a.m., with Celebrant Galen McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to his family, which will be used for higher education for his beloved grandchildren.
