Douglas D. Kneisley, age 88, of Marion left this world on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 9:40 PM from the Marion General Hospital . He was born in Marion, Ohio on June 9, 1930 to the late Frank D. and Nellie I. (Baker) Kneisley.
Doug graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1948 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army.
On December 24, 1953 he married the former Lois Lipker in Marion, Ohio and she preceded him in death on December 30, 2003.
Doug was employed with GTE/Verizon for 44 years as an Assigner/Facility Locator before his retirement in 1985.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by two sons; Douglas D. (Cheryl) Kneisley of Powell, OH. & Jay (Connie) Kneisley of Marion, OH., a sister; Colleen Hempstead of Caledonia, OH., three grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Lois, a son; Roger Kneisley, and two brothers; Bud & Jim Kneisley.
There will be no visiting hours or funeral service held at this time. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
