The Marion Family YMCA Swim Team will host over 220 competitors at the Marion Invitational on Saturday, October 13. This is the first year the YMCA’s Swim Team has hosted an invitational swim meet in October.
The meet will feature 223 swimmers who will represent the Bucyrus YMCA, Fort Meigs (Toledo) YMCA, Francis (Toledo) YMCA, Hardin County YMCA, Sandusky Area YMCA, Shelby YMCA, Tiffin YMCA, and Wapakoneta YMCA.
The Marion YMCA will be represented by 48 swimmers who have been in the water preparing since September 10th.
“Our athletes are really excited to kick off the season. We’re please we can offer a large, early season meet with a variety of teams to give our swimmers a chance to compete at a high level” said Aquatics Director Evan Shanley. “This will be the first meet for a lot of kids swimming this weekend. We look forward to watching them grow throughout the season, and this early experience is important for their confidence.”

The meet will consist of a variety of events for kids ages 4 through 18. Age groups are broken down as 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and Open. The public is welcome to attend this event and learn more about the great sport of swimming.
There is no admission charge, and the meet will start at 11:30 AM.
