Fahey Bank has announced the December 2012 Athletes of the Month are Olivia Davis of Harding, Logan Mattix of Ridgedale, and Justin Spaulding of Elgin.
Olivia Davis, co-winner of the Female Athlete of the Month, is a sophomore basketball player for Marion Harding. Olivia is averaging 12 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. However, Olivia’s career high in points and rebounds per game was against Galion in December with 22 points and 16 rebounds. She is shooting 52% from the field.
Logan Mattix, co-winner of the Female Athlete of the Month, is a repeat winner of the award. Logan is a senior basketball player for Ridgedale. Logan is a game changer who minimizes the opposing team’s ability to score within the lane. Logan is averaging 12 points per game and 4.5 blocks per game.
Female Honorable Mentions were Cassie Hosp of Pleasant, Dezaray Hay of Elgin, and Paxton Flugga of Marion Catholic.
Justin Spaulding, of Elgin, is the Male Athlete of the Month. Justin, a senior, has had an outstanding start to the basketball season. Justin is averaging 13.8 points per game and 9 rebounds per game. Justin was also been named first team in the inaugural Kory Kirkpatrick tip-off tournament.
Male Honorable Mentions were Collin Rollison of River Valley, Caleb Osborne of Ridgedale, Ryan Maniaci of Pleasant, Trey Kinney of Marion Harding, and Lane Flowers of Marion Catholic.
