Lady Buckeyes Fall to Nebraska 62-53

Jordan Hooper hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 28 points as Nebraska defeated Ohio State, 62-53, Thursday at Value City Arena.

Tayler Hill scored a team-high 22 points for the Buckeyes, who hit just 1 of 13 from behind the arc. Nebraska, meanwhile, hit nine 3-pointers that proved to be the difference in the game. Ashley Adams recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 39 minutes.

Trailing 23-21 with 4:23 left in the first half, Ohio State went cold the rest of the half as Nebraska went on an 11-3 run to close out the first 20 minutes with seven of those points coming from Hooper.

Ohio State outscored the Huskers in the second half, 29-28, but were unable to get the key stops defensively each time the Buckeyes cut the lead to six or seven. Aleksandra Dobranic hit her first career 3-pointer with 6:23 left to cut the lead to seven. But after a timeout, Nebraska scored six consecutive points over the next 3 minutes to push the lead to 13.

Dobranic finished with seven points and six rebounds while Ameryst Alston and Amber Stokes both finished with six points.

Ohio State will try and end its losing streak Sunday at Indiana. Game time is 2 p.m. ET on BTN.com.
