Louisville Beat Clippers 8-3

Behind a potent offensive attack, Louisville powered its way to an 8-3 win over Columbus at Huntington Park.

The Bats would get on the board first with a three run bomb off the bat of Felix Perez. They would add three more runs in the top of the third on a Jason Donald RBI double, a Mike Hessman RBI sacrifice fly, and a Perez RBI single.

Despite a three run fifth inning for Columbus, Louisville kept the scoring going, tallying a run in the top of the seventh on a Josh Fellhauer solo homer and another run in the top of the ninth on a Konrad Schmidt RBI single.

Greg Reynolds (W, 2-0) was awarded the victory for Louisville. Joe Martinez (L, 0-2) took the loss for Columbus.

The Clippers will depart Columbus for the glass city of Toledo as they begin a five game, two city series with the Toledo Mud Hens. Japanese righty Daisuke Matsuzaka (0-0, 6.14) will get the ball for the Clippers. He’ll oppose Mud Hens lefty Jose Alvarez (1-1, 2.70). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
