The Fahey Banking Company has announced the November Athletes of the Month for 2013 are Hannah Campbell and Caden Orewiler, both of River Valley.
Hannah Campbell is a senior at River Valley who finished the cross country season by placing 4th in the State meet in a time of 18:25. Hannah is the River Valley school record holder for the cross country 5k with a time of 18:00, which she ran at the Harding Invitational. Prior to running this time Hannah had broken her own school record two other times with times of 18:17 at the Tiffin Carnival and 18:12 at the Galion Invitational. This Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month Award is Hannah’s fifth; she has been awarded this honor three times for cross country and twice for track.
Honorable Mentions were Hunter Atherton of Pleasant, Kendra Benson of Elgin, Hannah Slane of Ridgedale, and Chloe Riedlinger of Marion Harding.
The Male Athlete of the Month went to Caden Orewiler, a sophomore golfer. Caden lead his team to a 12-0 record in the MOAC and first place in the Red Division of the MOAC and the Sectional Tournament. Caden was match medalist in 10 of his 17 regular season matches; this includes taking medalist honors at 5 Invitationals. Caden had a 9 hole stroke average of 36.9, which lead the league. This is Caden’s second time being honored as the Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month, as he is a repeat winner as a golfer.
Honorable Mentions were Mason Clark of Elgin, AJ Jones of Marion Harding, Zane Burris of Pleasant, and Zach Stayner of Ridgedale.
The Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month is voted on by the local athletic directors and two members of the media.
