Marion County Shock Hosting Winter Indoor Hitting League

Marion County ShockThe Marion County Shock Baseball and Softball Club will be hosting an indoor hitting league for youth ages 8 through 18 years. Leagues are forming for both baseball and fastpitch softball, with various age divisions. Organizers say this is a great way for players to get ready for the spring baseball and softball season.

The league will start on January 18, 2014 with games to be played at the Marion County Shock Training Facility located at 440 Wilson Avenue in Marion, Ohio.

Players will compete on teams of four. Cost is $50 per individual or $160 for a team of four players. The league will run for six weeks with games lasting one hour and awards presented to league champions.

Registration deadline is January 8, 2014.

The Marion County Shock is a non-profit, volunteer organization serving Marion and surrounding counties. It consists of eight baseball and softball teams for ages eight and up that believe players realize many benefits from its travel baseball and softball programs, including learning fundamentals, improving physical fitness, enhancing self confidence, developing respect for others, learning to value teamwork and contributing to a team effort, developing good sportsmanship, learning how to win and to deal effectively with losing, making new friends, and enjoying the great games of baseball and softball. In addition, teams focus on community involvement each season via community service events designed to instill a sense of giving back and community pride in each player.
