Crew Draw with Crystal Palace in Friendly

Columbus CrewWhile giving the majority of their regular starters the night off, the Columbus Crew earned a 2-2 draw against Barclays Premier League Side Crystal Palace FC in an international friendly at Crew Stadium on Wednesday night.

Adam Bedell opened the scoring for the Crew in the 15th minute, finishing a cross from Eric Gehrig. The visitors responded with a goal from Glenn Murray in the 36th minute to level the match before halftime. After a 70th-minute goal from the Eagles’ Jake Gray, the Crew found a late equalizer from Daniel Paladini in the 80th minute to cap the night’s contest.

A trio of Homegrown Players – midfielder Matt Walker, defender Ross Friedman and defender Matt Wiet – all made their professional debuts for the Crew tonight.

The Crew travels to New England to resume League play against the Revolution on Saturday, July 26 (7:30 p.m. ET / Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
