The Marion Family YMCA Dolphin Swim team is gearing up for the 2014-2015 winter season. They are looking to have another competitive season with swimmers achieving their goals, swimming fast, having fun while learning new skills.
Those interested in joining the team are invited to come to the parent’s informational meeting on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the preschool room at the YMCA. Cost and practice times will be discussed along with an opportunity to get to know the coach.
The Marion Family YMCA will also be hosting a clinic two weeks prior to the start of the season. The clinic will be on Tuesday and Thursday, September 2 and 11. The clinic will cover technique specific teaching of all four strokes. Participants do not have to be a YMCA swim team member.
The scheduled start to the season is Monday, September 15, 2014 with practice from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The first week of practice will be a free trial week.
The Marion YMCA will be hosting two invitationals this year and the team will compete in many away meets. Meets and practices are optional, but are encouraged for swimmers to participate. The team will be affiliated with USA Swimming.
