After scoring a season-low five points last game, Alston scored six points in the first two and half minutes on Sunday. She was 12-of-20 from the floor and 10-of-13 from the free throw line.

Mitchell battled foul trouble most of the game but still finished with 29 points, including five three pointers. She has made 12 three-pointers in the last two games.

Freshman Alexa Hart impacted play on both ends of the floor as she was 6-of-9 shooting for 12 points on the offensive end and also blocked eight shots on the defensive end.

Graduate student Amy Scullion made her return to the team on Sunday and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds to go along with three points in 14 minutes.

VCU held a 57-36 edge on the boards and scored 23 second chance points. The Rams were led by Ashley Pegram’s 25 points while Keira Robinson added 18 points and five assists.

Despite being out-rebounded, the Buckeyes did most of their work inside, scoring 48 points in the paint compared to just 28 for VCU. OSU also converted 21 VCU turnovers into 31 points.
