Cavaliers drop Lakers 120-105

Kevin Love and the Cleveland Cavaliers got back in the win column with a 120-105 victory over the undermanned Los Angeles Lakers Sunday afternoon at The Q.

Love, who came in having posted five points in two of the last three games, exploded for a season-high 32 points. The power forward pulled down 10 boards and was 7-of-8 from downtown, but he also mixed it up in the painted area.

It was the best blend of inside-out play that Love has shown in quite some time. Love has spoken about finding his way throughout the season. He found it on this day.

“I thought he was outstanding,” Head Coach David Blatt said. “I was real happy with his activity level. I thought he moved really well for spots and got himself prepared for the opportunities that came his way.”

LeBron James was a couple of passes away from securing his first triple-double of the season as he provided 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. He did not play the entire fourth quarter.

Kyrie Irving was efficient and steady, putting up 28 points on 10-of-14 from the field to go with a game-high 10 assists and one turnover in 32 minutes.

The Cavaliers were one three-pointer away from tying a franchise record of 19 threes made.

Cleveland (32-21) has swept the season-series 2-0. The last time that occurred against the Lakers was during the 2009-10 season.
