Browns beat 49ers 24-10

Johnny Manziel was prophetic before the game when he signed a $100 bill for a fan with the name “Money Manziel.”

Then, he went out and beat the 49ers 24-10 with an array of big passes in his return as the starter after being benched two weeks for lying to the coaches about his partying over the bye weekend.

The first of his four starts to close out the season couldn’t have gone much better for him. He got the support from the running game, the receivers and the defense that the Browns had promised their quarterbacks before the season.

The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Browns and improved their record to 3-10. The 49ers slipped to 5-8.

Manziel, 2-2 as a starter, got a monster game from running back Isaiah Crowell, who rushed 20 times for 145 yards and two TDs, including blasts of 50 and 54 yards. It was the first 100-yard rushing game by a Brown since Week 4 of last season.

The Browns rushed for a season-high 230 yards on 41 carries. The Browns running game has been non-existent most of the season, ranking last in the NFL heading in with only 73.9 yards per game.

Crowell’s total was the most by a Browns running back since Peyton Hillis had 184 against New England on Nov. 7, 2010.

The Browns also got huge games out tight end Gary Barnidge (5 catches, 84 yards, one TD) and receiver Brian Hartline (eight catches, 107 yards) before he left the game with what proved to be a season-ending broken collarbone.
