Kings beat Blue Jackets 3-2 in OT

For as encouraged as the Blue Jackets were by their back-to-back wins over Chicago and Dallas, they’ll be equally discouraged about letting Tuesday’s game slip through their fingers.

They had a 2-1 lead late into the third period at STAPLES Center before the Kings tied the game with under six minutes left and then got an early overtime winner from Alec Martinez.

A brief synopsis: Brandon Saad scored his first goal of the season in the second period to open the scoring. Anze Kopitar tied the game later in the period, only to be answered by a Cam Atkinson power play goal a few minutes later.

Sergei Bobrovsky finished with 27 saves and had some strong moments, keeping the Blue Jackets in the game as the Kings pushed in the third period.
