Ohio State held Cincinnati to just 10 points after halftime and just one point in the fourth quarter to turn a one-point halftime deficit into an 80-38 rout Sunday afternoon at Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes snap a two-game losing streak and improve to 6-3 on the season. UC falls for just the second time this season and is now 6-2.
Ohio State struggled for the second-straight game in the opening half, shooting 4-of-17 (23.5 percent) and trailed 28-27 at the break. But in the second half, the Buckeyes turned the tables by shooting 65 percent and held UC to 3-of-37 (8.1 percent) shooting which included 0-of-19 in the fourth quarter.
Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 23 points on 4-of-6 from long range. She is now just 23 points shy of 2,000 for her career. Alexa Hart notched her first double-double of the season with 10 points and a season-high 12 rebounds.
Shanice Johnson led the Bearcats with her own double-double of 10 points and 17 rebounds.
Ohio State returns to action this Wednesday when it hosts SWAC foe Southern at 7 p.m.
