The City of Marion’s Lincoln Park Aquatic Center has started opening early to give adults a change to swim without the kids. They are now open from 7:30 am to 11:00 am Monday through Friday for any adult that would like to come in and walk the Lazy River or swim laps.

The City of Marion's Lincoln Park Family Aquatic Center is offering swim lessons. The swim lessons are being offered for a 2 week session on July 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.

After a relatively short delay, the City of Marion’s new Lincoln Park Family Aquatics Center will open to the general public on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. The Aquatics Center will be open daily from 12:00 – 8:00 pm, weather permitting.

The City of Marion’s new aquatic center will be opening later than officials had hoped. The original plan was for the Lincoln Park Family Aquatic Center to open for Memorial Day Weekend, but an up and down construction season has put the completion a little behind.

On Wednesday, May 16, 2012, between 5:30pm and 7:00pm, the City of Marion’s Lincoln Park Family Aquatic Center will offer tours for the community so you can see the facility before opening. If you have already purchased your membership, or if you purchase your membership that evening, you may tour for free.

Marion City Council in the past few weeks has approved funding and contractors to build a new pool for the City. The plan is to build to the new facility at Lincoln Park, the site of the current pool. Some have asked, though, if this is the best location. City officials want to know…what do you think?
