The Marion County Adult Probation Department is seeking 31-year-old Cassandra "Cassie" Miniard for a probation violation. She is a white female, 5'7" tall, 165 lbs with blue eyes and brown hair. Her last known address is 519 Hartford Street in Marion.

Marion Officers Use Tip to Seize Bag of Cocaine

Acting on a tip, the Marion Police Department says officers arrested a local man after they discovered a large amount of cocaine in his vehicle.

MARMET Arrests 15 in Operation Vigilance

The MARMET Drug Task Force, in conjunction with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, says a nearly six month investigation, called Operation Vigilance, into the sale of illegal drugs in the Marion area resulted in several search warrants executed on Friday, August 3. As a result of the raids, 15 people were arrested on drug related and other charges.

Ohio AG Announces Effort to Stop Nursing Home Drug Thefts

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that he is intensifying his efforts to stop pharmaceutical drug thefts in adult care facilities by offering investigative assistance to every nursing home, assisted living agency, and residential care facility in Ohio.

Patrol Traffic Stops, OVI and Drug Arrests Up Over Holiday Weekend

The Ohio State Highway Patrol made more traffic stops and impaired driving and drug arrests this Memorial Day weekend compared to the 2011 holiday weekend. In addition, 11 people lost their lives over the weekend- a four year low for the reporting period.

Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office had a busy Monday after they discovered stolen vehicles and a shotgun while training in a quarry. In addition, aerial surveillance led to the discovery of marijuana plants in a corn field.

Neighborhood Complaints Lead to Drug Arrest

This morning, Thursday, June 24, the MARMET Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 139 West Walnut Street in the City of Marion in connection to a drug trafficking investigation. During the search, officers say they found drugs and made one arrest.

Marion Man Arrested for Alleged Prostitution Ring

On Friday, June 18, detectives from MARMET and the Marion Police Department made arrests in an alleged prostitution ring operating in the Marion community. Vincent Miller, age 47, was arrested on charges of Promoting Prostitution and Trafficking in Marijuana.

Drug Trafficker Wanted for Probation Violation

The Marion County Adult Probation Department is seeking information on the location of 23-year-old Jerry L. Akins. He is 6'1" tall and weighs 156 lbs with brown eyes and black hair.

Authorities say Akins was released from prison in September 2009 for Trafficking in Cocaine.
