Golf Outing to Benefit Safety City

The Marion Area Browns Backers are holding a golf outing on Saturday, June 26. Proceeds from the event benefit the organization and Safety City in Marion.

The day begins with registration at 9:30 am and a 10:15 am tee-off.

The outing is at King’s Mill Golf Course in Waldo and will be a 4-Person Regular Scramble.

5k Run/Walk to Benefit Elgin Football

This year the Elgin football program will be hosting its second annual Big Bang 5K Fun Run and Walk in Prospect.

The race is July 3 at 9:30 am starting at the Prospect American Legion Hall and ending at Prospect Park.

Huge Annual Book Sale Benefits Marion Library

The Friends of the Marion Public Library annual book sale is June 19, and 20 at Tri-Rivers Career Center, 2222 Marion-Mt. Gilead Road. The Friends have been collecting good clean books and audio visual material the past several weeks for this event.

5k Run/Walk to Benefit Turning Point

Turning Point is gearing up for their annual Baguette Run. The event is a 5k run and/or walk on Saturday, June 26, and all the proceeds go to Turning Point to help them in their fight against domestic violence.

Annual Garage Sale to Benefit Mentoring Group

Heart of Ohio Mentoring is having their annual garage sale on Thursday, June 17th and Friday, June 18th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Items large and small, furniture,(including a roll top desk), housewares, collectibles, and much more.

Marion Restaurant Helping Out Park District

The Marion County Park District and The Warehouse restaurant, 320 West Center Street, have partnered in a fund raising effort to raise local matching grant funds for the new Marion Tallgrass Trail.

18th Annual Cruisin’ for Dialysis Is Saturday

The annual Cruisin’ for Dialysis is in downtown Marion Saturday, June 5. Vehicle registration runs from noon to 3:00 pm at Marion City Hall with events all day long.

The New Whiskey River Band will play from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. There will be a large raffle, including a 50” plasma television donated by Showplace Rent-To-Own. Cars will shoot the loop and awards will be given out at 6:00 pm.

Hundreds Expected In Marion For Annual Poker Run

The 6th Annual Brandy Winfield Memorial Poker Run roars to life on Saturday with the departure of motorcycles at 12:00 pm and the parade of motorcycles through Marion upon returning. Before that, a more somber memorial service will be held at Winfield’s grave tonight (Friday).

Annual Yard Sale At Marion Senior Center

On Friday, June 4th, the Marion Senior Center is holding their annual “inside” Yard Sale in the cool comfort of the Senior Center. The sale begins at 8:30am and ends at 1:30pm.

Lunch will be served from 11:00am until noon. The menu is sandwich, salad, dessert and a beverage which will be sold a la carte.

Marion Church Holding Fish Fry and Parking Lot Sale

Victory Center Church of God, 1190 East Fairground Street in Marion, is holding a parking lot sale and fish fry on Saturday, June 5, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Individuals can rent space in the parking lot for $10 to sell their items. To reserve your space, call Betty at 740-531-2755. You can pay when you set-up.
