Marion Harding Athletic Boosters will be hosting a 5K run on Saturday, October 6 at 12:30 pm. The 5K will be run on the cross country course at Harding. Cost will be $20 per runner. Prizes will be awarded for age groups. For questions, call 740-360-2546.

Harding Student Awarded AAA Grant
Marion Harding High School Senior, Sarah Shelton recently became one of a select group of Ohio seniors to receive the 25th annual AAA School Safety Patrol $1,000 Grant. Each year, AAA Ohio Auto Club awards this grant to 10 former School Safety Patrol members to assist them as they further their education after high school.
Two Marion Students Awarded $40k Scholarships
The opportunity to attend the scholars’ dream universities, that’s how Brad Bebout, president of Marion Community Foundation, describes the intention behind two new impact scholarships awarded by the Foundation this spring.
The two recipients of Marion Community Foundation’s Robert M. and Dorothy C. Wopat Scholarship are Lauren Thomas, a senior at Marion Harding High School, and Aron Gibson, a senior at River Valley High School.
Harding High School Event Aimed at Teen Driver Safety
Teens have the highest crash rate of any group in the United States, and spring and summer prove especially dangerous for these young drivers. In an effort to keep teens safe on the road, AAA is hosting free vehicle maintenance inspections (and a free lunch) for students at Harding High School on Friday, May 11. 2012.

Community Invited To “Picnic at Panorama”
A Harding High School tradition continues on May 1 and 2 when Panorama 2010 is presented in the high school cafetorium. The May 1 performance will be preceded by a Picnic at Panorama dinner.
Panorama debuted 43 years ago in 1967, and is a yearly variety showcase of many of the school’s talented vocal and instrumental students, often interwoven with some creative comedy, as well. Panorama 2010 will be presented at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, and at a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, May 2.
High School Jazz Bands To Take Palace Stage
The Smithsonian Museum launched Jazz Appreciation Month in 2001 as an annual event that pays tribute to jazz both as a historic and living American art form. It has since grown to include celebrations in all 50 states and 40 countries.
The Marion Palace Theatre has plans to join the celebration with “And All That Jazz,” a concert featuring performances from several area high school jazz/swing bands including Pleasant, Mt. Gilead, Colonel Crawford, River Valley, and Harding’s Stardusters.
