MTC Announces Upcoming Changes to the GED Testing Process

The General Equivalency Diploma (GED) test is coming to Marion Technical College (MTC). Though the MTC ABLE program serving Marion, Morrow, and Wyandot Counties has been hosted at MTC for the past three years, in late July and early August, the actual GED test provided by Marion City Schools will also be located on the Marion Campus at Marion Technical College in the Technical Education Center’s room 150.

Marion Tech Names 296 Graduates

Marion Technical College recently honored 296 graduates for their accomplishments. A commencement ceremony was held on June 9, 2012 at the Palace Theatre in Marion, Ohio.

Over 600 Named to MTC Dean’s List

Marion Technical College has named 636 full-time students to its Spring Term dean’s list. To qualify for the scholastic honor, a student must earn at least 3.5 out of a possible 4.0 academic average for the term and be enrolled at MTC as a full-time student.

Counselor to Talk Dating, Relationships on Marion Campus

The Ohio State University at Marion welcomes Annette Franks, M.Ed., LPC to campus, Thursday, April 19, at noon, in Morrill Hall, Room 290.  Franks will present a free program entitled "The Art of Dating & Creating Healthy Relationships.”

Partners Hope to Make Marion a Robotics Center

Could Marion become a center for robotics education and training? That’s the ultimate goal of local businesses and education centers who unveiled their plans to create a robotics education center located at Tri-Rivers Career Center. The center hopes to provide needed skilled labor and put Marion on the map for robotics training.

Non-Traditional Students Offered Help Getting Started with College

Nearly 30% of Ohio State Marion students are considered non-traditional, learn how to join this growing number by attending a free public information seminar the evening of April 19th.

The Ohio State University at Marion Office of Admissions & Financial Aid will hold a free public information seminar Thursday, April 19, from 6-8:30 p.m. to assist prospective non-traditional college students on learning the ins and outs of returning to the classroom and pursuing a college education.

MTC’s ABLE to Offer Free ESOL Online Program

Marion Technical College’s ABLE program is set to offer an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) online program. Those interested in the program will enroll by attending a one orientation session at the Marion Campus. This class prepares students to enroll in the English for speakers of other languages online program.

MTC, OSUM to Benefit from Capital Budget Bill

State Representatives Jeff McClain (R-Upper Sandusky) and Dorothy Pelanda (R-Marysville)  have announced the passage of House Bill 482, the capital budget bill. Universities statewide will be benefitting from the capital budget bill, including those in Marion County.

MTC Offering Free GED Practice Test
