Morgan Candel captured the title of Miss Marion Popcorn Festival 2010 Saturday evening, August 7, during competition at Grant Middle School.
By winning the Miss Marion Popcorn Festival title, Candel earned a scholarship sponsored by H & R Block-Steve Rhoades. She also received the Festival crown and prize package.
The Marion Popcorn Festival has named Mario Messina as the entertainment for the Palace Theatre on Thursday afternoon, September 9, at 2:00. Messina’s performance will feature timeless hits from the ‘50s and ‘60s, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and more. As with all Festival entertainment, this performance is free to the public.
The 30th annual Miss Marion Popcorn Scholarship Program will be held on Saturday, August 7, at the Grant Middle School gymnasium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 7:00 p.m.. Tickets are $10.00 each and available at the door. This year’s theme for the festival and this event is “Peace, Love, and Popcorn”.
